Web 2.0 Tools

You provide text and let the system create a cloud out of them. The more the word appears in the text, the larger it will be in the Wordle cloud. You can change the color themes and the shape of the cloud to whatever you like. I can use this in my art class as a start of the year project. They can think up words that they believe corresponds with art and then print out their cloud and use it for their binder cover.

You can create your own comic book or graphic novel. Choose from a variety of backgrounds and characters and add dialog boxes to create an original story. Prints out cleanly and colorfully. This can be used in my class as a way to show that studio arts are not the only form of art. There is also writing and computer arts as well.

Choose an image off of Flickr and choose key words. The site will create the image out of the text. You can edit and change the text as you please. I can use this in class as way to get the students to understand typography. They can take a photo of their own to use and use the site to create a reference for their own typography project.

A fun way for young children to be creative and paint. Uses sound effects and a mascot to encourage and guide the children through the program. The students are given a blank canvas. This is a way to introduce digital art to younger students. It is also a fun way for them to be creative after finishing their projects with time left in class.

An online photo editing spot. Offers easy to use tools that allow the creating and editing of photo images. This site also works using layers. This is a way for me to introduce photo editing to my students. This site is easier to work with over photoshop but still allows the students to do the basics of photo editing.

You can create animations online. As well as create your own original works of art. You can also share them with your friends. This is a way for me to introduce the animation part of the art world. My students can learn some of the basic steps in creating the cartoons that they enjoy watching everyday.

A digital sketch book. Students can create sketches using different types of lines. An easy way to put down your ideas and can be accessed through any internet connected device. I can use this as a way for my students to jot down sketches. Also an easy way to help prevent them from having to carry around big sketchbooks.

Create your own unique fonts within a couple of minutes. You can create fonts from your own handwriting. You can create as many fonts as you like. I can use this in my class to help build my students writing skills. They can save and share their fonts to use in their typography projects.

Can create 3D objects on the internet. A good way to think up sculptures for future projects. Can be exported to a chosen few files. I can use this as a way to let my students “Sketch” out their sculptures they plan to make. It is also a nice way to let them work with digital 3D objects.

A way to monitor and influence color trends. You can play with various color palettes. It also has color related articles and news for you to read. I can use this in my classroom when my students are studying color theory. They can also use this site as a way to pick out color palettes for their paintings.

Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone, my name is Kayla Wilson, and I will be blogging about gardens. I grew up in a nice little country town outside of Arkadelphia and am currently attending Henderson State University. I am studying art education, and I'm not sure why, but people always ask me "What can you do with that", my response is an art teacher. I have always been interested in art and music, I can currently play 3 different instruments and am working on 2 more. In art I really enjoy using charcoal, however with all my different classes I have experienced many different types of art that I never thought about doing. One of those is digital art and another is photography. One of the studio arts that I enjoy the most is printmaking. It's nice to create a work of art that you can make copies of and it is still made by natural things.

Enough about me though, its time to talk about my blog. My blog is focused on my garden this summer. I try every year to grow a garden and it always ends in failure, but this year I am determined to make this one work. So I'm going to blog about it to show how much I believe God will help grow a garden. This is where the title of my blog came from. Seeds of Prosperity, because that is God's will in our life. I will post pictures of my garden and we can see how my cute little plants grow and produce vegetables and fruits. I have planted a watermelon, 3 cantaloupe, 2 pepper plants, 6 cucumber, 3 zucchini, 6 purple hull peas, 1 tomato, and 2 strawberries. I hope you enjoy this journey with me and pray with me that this garden turns out great. God Bless!
